A combined competitive examination for requirement to Geologist Service Union Public Service Commission commencing from 23rd May 2015

Category I: 240 posts
Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines:
i. Geologist, Group A: 150 posts
ii. Geophysicist, Group A: 40 posts
iii. Chemist, Group A: 50 posts
Category II: 29 posts
Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources:
i. Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B), Group A: 29 posts


Eligibility Conditions
Nationality:
a) A citizen of India, or b) a subject of Nepal, or c) a subject of Bhutan, or d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or e) a persons of India origin who havs migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malwi, Zaire and Ethiopia or  from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt. of India

Age Limits
Candidates age should be between 21 to 32 years for Category I posts & 21 to 35 years for Category II posts as on 01-01-2015. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules..

Minimum Educational Qualifications
.
Candidates should possess Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology for Category I (S.No.i) post, M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics for Category I (S.No.ii) post, M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry for Category I (S.No.iii) post, Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology for Category II (S.No.i) post.

Application Fee:
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.200/- (rupees two hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI and associated bank like SBT, SBH, etc or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
